Dear LUMPIA Lovers,
Is it already NEW YEARS? All of us here want to thank YOU for keeping
up to date with our projects. Your support keeps us goin'! Before we
welcome the new year, here's a quick and brief LUMPIA-lovin' recap of
Over the holiday season, our DVD catalog grows to 5 titles overall with
the release of our second acquisition, the independent film LEAVE IT
TO CHANCE by Bernard Badion.
We also release our first short film titled "The Ones and Twos" which
focuses on a mobile DJ crew. Perhaps a glimpse of an upcoming feature
in the works? Only time (and money) will tell...
Our music video for Kim del Fierro "Gone" finally makes its online
debut on Valentine's Day.
Weeks later, "Champion" along with our Black Eyed Peas "Bebot:
Generation One" music video are featured at the San Francisco
International Asian American Film Festival.
Our website gets a major facelift thanks to web designer Darriel Ginelsa.
The brand new KidHeroes.net features a sleek NEW DESIGN, a BRAND
NEW online store, and more VIDEOS.
At the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, myself, Apl.de.Ap
of the Black Eyed Peas, and the Little Manila Foundation were present
to accept the 2007 President's Award
from the Board of Trustees of the
California Preservation Foundation "for using the music video 'BEBOT:
Generation One' to capture the spirit of the Rizal Social Club, to draw
attention to the Little Manila Foundation, and to introduce a younger
generation to an important part of Stockton’s history and culture."
Our Native Guns "Champion" video is featured at two more film festivals:
the Los Angeles VC FilmFest and the New York Asian American
International Film Festival.
We begin work on our first ever commercial for the L&L HAWAIIAN
BARBECUE franchise. The 30 second TV spot named "Family Paradise"
In order to raise more awareness about the Filipino Veterans Equity Act,
we premiere a public service announcement on behalf of the National
Alliance for Filipino Veterans Equity (NAFVE). The 30 second spot
"Full Equity Now" featuring veteran FAUSTINO “Peping” BACLIG was
created with assistance from donations and sales made in July 2007
through our KidHeroes.net online store and the donated time and efforts
The talk of the community is the "PINOY SIGHTING" found in the 9/30/07
episode of "Desperate Housewives". The controversial scene inspires
our good friend Kevin Nadal to begin an online petition that spreads like
wild fire. In just a few days, the online petition makes national news and
forces ABC to write out a formal apology. The uproar renews interest in
my "PINOY SIGHTINGS" presentation with discussions at USC and
Cal State Fullerton.
The title of our "CHAMPION" music video proves to be prophetic. We
score our FIRST EVER competitive award win as our Native Guns video
wins the BEST MUSIC VIDEO award at the SAN DIEGO ASIAN
On Oct. 27, I make my stage directorial debut with Fe de los Reyes'
